Neckring Mechanism with Special Features

As the Neckring Mechanism is one of the most important components of an I.S. machine, it is critical that accuracy and repeatability are maintained throughout its long service life. It is quiet normal for Neckring mechanisms’ to be installed in a section for several years (dependant on a variety of factors) with the minimum of maintenance but accuracy and repeatability can often fall away quite rapidly once the main components begin to wear. The range of Lattimer mechanism’s are manufactured to the highest standards with hardened and ground piston splines, these manufacturing processes’ are key factors to their outstanding performance. All our mechanism’s are accompanied with certification to confirm they conform to the required operating standards following a bench test (operating pressure and accuracy).

In this example our Customer is producing small ware for the cosmetic industry and the efficient operation of the mechanism and neckring arm is critical. To improve quality and reduce the possibility of defects the Customer requested a Dual Operation Neckring Mechanism i.e Air in-put from both ends and additional double-porting internally. The net result is super smooth actuation, ensuring both Neckring Arms are operating at the exact same time, critical on very small ware production.
